During a particularly rough time in my life in the early 1990s, I started meditating in an attempt to stay centered and gain some peace of mind. Deepak Chopra’s Journey to the Boundless prompted me to start meditating and I have been meditating ever since.  Inspired by meditation, I trained in Transcendental Meditation but continued to be an avid reader of Deepak’s books. His work on the body, mind, spirit connection resonated strongly with me, and I shared his view that a person’s health is intimately related to her or his state of mind.  In 2003, I made the decision to become a Chopra Center certified Primordial Sound Meditation Instructor as the most logical extension of my lifelong awareness of the mystical and my love for meditation and it’s benefits. I started Joy Meditation to pass on the wisdom.”

Stephanie also has an M.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

“I never feel closer to spirit than when I’m outdoors.”
